Gladstone´s budget box retires

The iconic red budget box, first used by William Gladstone 150 years ago, will be officially retired after next week´s budget.

The UK's National Archives authority has been awarded a grant to digitise British Telecom's physical archive, making almost half a million photographs, documents and correspondence preserved by BT over 165 years available online as part of the New Connections project.
